Can you use a Apple Ipod Hard Drive in a computer?

Hi everyone, is it possible??

Reason: I have a ipod that doesnt work but i want to use the ipod.

It's recognized as an external HD and can store files...
Is the screen broken? You can always replace the screen....
no the problem is the pins on the mobo that hold the ribbon cable to the mobo are broken. So my only thing to do is replace mobo but, i dont want to mess with it.
Isn't an ipod harddrive just a laptop hard drive?
It depends on which model you have. Some use flash based drives. Plus the HDDs might not use standard SATA/IDE connectors.

I was assuming he meant a hard drive based Ipod, like the classic.

Absolutely.


A friend of mine transfers data from his Apple IPod HDD to my computer sometimes for LANs. He just has a special connector, obviously, that allows it to connect through USB.

It is a 4th Gen U2 Special Edition Ipod. Does that help?
