MONTREAL â€" Video gaming covers the gamut of ages in Canada, with parents and kids playing on their own and as a family, according to the Entertainment Software Association of Canada

The average age of adult gamers in Canada is 40 and those who played recently spent about seven hours a week on video games, says a survey released by association, which represents leading firms in the video and computer game industry.

But parents were also playing video games with their kids, making it a social activity. Six out of 10 parents played video games with their children, the survey says.

Well I know I'll be gaming with my kids someday.

True that, I'll have to hold on to my old Barton 2500 rig, they can learn to overclock properly that way.

I would like to plat CSS or L4D with my family lol.
I really my dad would be just as into gaming and computer hardware as I am. But of course wishing does not bring about it happening.

My Dad was the one who taught me to overclock way back in the DOS days.

He's not a gamer though.

Gaming's always been my way of getting away form life and therefore everyone else (who can Giiiiit out!) But when I'm a family man I'm sure I'll love teaching my son/daughter how to properly run over those virtual reality pedestrians.
"BOOM! HEADSHOT"
"Nice shot, son."
Johnny, if you stop next to a hooker they can get in and you can have sex with her.

(presses > > A for the most expensive job)

Good choice Johnny.
"steady....steady...be patient. Bide your time, he's co-NOW, SHOOT! SHOOT HIM! YES, GO ON LAD!"
I play StarCraft with my dad at least three times a week >_>

I get the feeling this is at ransom. Play StarCraft with me or your mother and I will have sex. Loudly.

I hope when I have my kids they will love Gears of War as much as I do. Or at least the need for speed series. I just picked up Gears 2 about 5 hours ago. Waiting to be done work. I bailing early to make it home so i can eat and turn on the xbox before I'm normally done work. So much passion. YAY!

I think I'll be playing when I have kids someday. I think the real trick will be to have my future wife play too!
Sucks that my parent don't know the meaning of games. My kids are going to have a more Pro gamer father.
Gmod lanparty with the folks...lulz.

I can see a round of CS:S or L4D being useful, tho...a little friendly competition against each other or legions of undead...

Me and my dad have played games on lots of occasions. His fav. new game is COD 4 for the xbox 360.
I've never played games with my parents. My dad can hardly use a mouse.

I'll definitely turn my kids (if I ever have any) into gamers though.
