Why doesn't windows 7 detect my floppy drive! I want to flash my video cards bios and I cant.

Make sure it's plugged in and the floppy drive and floppy controller are enabled in the BIOS. Otherwise I don't know. But you can boot from a flash drive (USB stick), which I like a million times better than dealing with crappy floppies.

Don't have a flash drive otherwise I would.

See its enabled in the bios and it can boot from it, doesn't show up in windows 7 tho I'm pissed

Go to device manager and see if it detects it, or if it detects an unkown device that doesn't have a driver installed. If so update/find the driver, and you should be good to go.

EDIT: Is this a traditional floppy drive or is it USB?

It's going to be hard finding someone with that kind of knowledge about floppies. I don't even think 7 was even designed to accommodate floppy discs. The floppy era is long gone.

try diskmgmt.msc ,my floppy works in 7

Give it some Viagra lol. No seriously, I have read of other people having FDD problems with W7 also. Try going to the MS web page and post in their tech forums. I got some good help there before.

bleh, i haven't had a floppy drive in any of my systems for almost a decade now...

boot off a thumbdrive if you must...

(i read the thread so don't bother posting "he got the floppy working already")
