I accidentally deleted the partition on the flash drive installing XP on my sig rig (thinking it was a swap area from a linux install) so I plug it into my gaming computer and it says this drive needs to be formatted..

I think oh... well ok.. Then i get this (attachment)

Confused I am.. *Yoda voice*

I thought, hell I could just buy a better one too..

Well....?

There are a couple things to try. You can try to format it using the HP USB format tool, you could try disconnecting the main HDD and running the XP install disk and formatting it (works with stuborn RAID drives that wont want to format when setting them back to non-RAID drives) or you can try the Gparted disk.

Note with Gparted you need to select "Advanced Mode" and choose the "Versa" video drivers to get the disk to work.

Great! I always keep that tool handy. I use it to make my USB drives DOS bootable.
