Try lowering your cpu llc to Ultra High and cpu/nb to Regular. Also cpu/nb current capability to 100%. If that works then you may even be able to lower your cpu voltage for 4.4ghz from 1.45v a few notches. Or at that point bump up to 22.5 (4.5ghz) and add cpu voltage if needed. Be sure to keep an eye on temps.

Ok will do. Just came upon a huge discovery with my haf -x case. i opened the back of the case and blew some can O air on the back of the cpu area and watched the temp drop 15 deg C. so with a small fan blowing on the back of the mobo the temp dropped to 49c and 43c on cpu0-7 so going to mod the back of the case with a filtered fan coming in to lower that heat build up. then i can get back to the adjustment. cant wait

i have Danger Den Monsoon Premium D5 Bay Reservoir with pump, black ice triple rad on inside top with push pull, a single black ice rad in back push/pull set up the full looped system only running cpu and xfire 6970 xfx cards both gpu are oc'ed 950/1450 with volt push had them at 1000/1500 and temps were max 80c under furmark for an hourbut i returned the gpu to 950/1450 stock volts. just cant seem to get the cpu temps to stay down. now after i pull the back cover off the Haf X casethe cpu temp drop quick like a dropped in a bucket of ice. so im considering putting a fan on the case to keep the temp reduced ... bad idea or good?

What is your VRM or NB temp? You might try a fan directed there.
System looks great btw.

I had the same problem until I read this! I also have fx 8350 at 4.2ghz but when i run prime95 the CPU temp goes up to 60c+ fast and core temp gets up to 51c max. when idling, its fine....I will give this a try first thing in the morning mate, and edit with an update.

Thanks.. yeah the volts were alittle whackey at first now everything seems to be under "better" control i do have to run 1.450v to keep stable at 4.5g clock speed thou. tried lowering in increments of .025 and even at 1.425v it error-ed in OCCT after 25 minutes.
