I installed a secondary harddrive yesterday and and booted up, I starting getting all kinds of errors and BSODs. I ruled out the RAM. The problem is that I cant get my E7300 past 1.6ghz. Tryed clearing cmos serveral times. see my intel build for more info on the system components etc...
C1E is off and there is no option for Speedstep, I had to manually change the multiplier to 6 because if i set it to 10 it will not boot, it will load the xp loading screen then get a bsod immediatly
Hmm. I don't know what troubleshooting you've already done but in your situation I would try the following:
1. Clear CMOS. Then break your system down to just an optical drive and a floppy drive connected to the mobo, no HDs.
2. Go back and turn off SpeedStep (if not called this it is any function in your computer which can autoadjust the multiplier based on CPU load conditions)
3. Turn off C1E.
4. Boot up memtest86+ and just let that run. If no errors crop up, then power your system back off.
5. Reconnect HDs. Reset the other BIOS config options as needed.
6. Further diagnostics at this point may be necessary.
Also, before you start step 1, check that your motherboard's BIOS properly supports the CPU.

Tried all this. its a P35 a e7300 is compatible, so Im not sure what to do, wverything was fine until i installed that secodary drive, Im using all 4 DIMM slots is there anything i need to adjust in bios, im a AMD guy and a complete n00b to Intel
See if the drives are hot-swappable. If they are, connect one to your main rig and do a scan on it.
Also, make sure you are booting off the right HDD, because once I didn't realize my main HDD was in the SATA2 slot, and the new one I connected was SATA1... the BIOS auto adjusted and made the SATA1 my primary... then I couldn't boot into ANYTHING until I changed it. Just a thought...

I take it you have the EP35-DS3L? Can you post your current bios settings (if it is the Gigabyte, then what settings are set in M.I.T). What ram divider are you running? Are you giving the DIMMs enough voltage to run 4 modules?
im just running ram at stock speeds 5.5.5.15.2t it calls for 2v but since im using 4 stick im running 2.1v, cpu set to 1.38v, smart fan control is off, C1E is off
Ok so I got it to stock speeds but its requireing 1.45v to boot windows, im stressing it with occt so far for 30minutes and it idles at 38c and max 48c, any idea why it wants so much juice? is there a major vdroop problem or does it seem more like a cpu problem?
