I know it's supported. It worked in Ubuntu with little to no set up.

It is part of an all in one printer. It's a HP Photosmart B209a-m printer that is a wireless unit. I can print. I know that works through CUPS.

I can't get the scanner to work though.

Alright, let's start at the beginning. When I try hp-toolbox, I get this error:

Code:
Code:
warning: Qt/PyQt 4 initialization failed.
error: hp-toolbox requires GUI support. Exiting.
I have qt3 installed. I have qt4 installed. I have pyqt3 installed. I don't know what the problem is.

Though it does directly address your issue, try simple-scan. It's not (yet) in AUR, lightweight and functional, consumes about 296K on disk. You can hack away at my PKGBUILD, or roll your own to suit:

Code:
Code:
pkgname=simple-scan
pkgver=2.32.0.1
pkgrel=1
arch=('i686' 'x86_64')
license=('GPL')
depends=('sane')
makedepends=('gnome-doc-utils')
source=(http://launchpadlibrarian.net/58071421/${pkgname}-${pkgver}.tar.gz)
md5sums=('2fd23b9ccb41b4b99c42d8ac242fabfc')

build() {
  cd ${srcdir}/${pkgname}-${pkgver}

./configure --disable-dependency-tracking --disable-schemas-install --disable-scrollkeeper --disable-nls --prefix=/usr

  make
  make DESTDIR=${pkgdir} install

  rm -rf ${pkgdir}/usr/{etc,share/{gnome,locale}}

}

I want to get the hp-toolbox issue fixed first since when I run hp-check, it says the printer is not installed correctly with hplip.

Printer.

...and this is probably the only thing I can help you with in this topic. Sorry.

I am awesome. I got it to work wirelessly. I needed the avahi-daemon in my rc.conf.

Also, I just ran hp-check and I got a few warnings. I just installed the packages it needed and ran hp-check again. DONE.
