Can't output sound to HD out to TV

Hey guys... I can't output my sound to the "HDMI out" device that should appear in the "playback" tab of the sounds window. I just installed windows 7 so I might be missing drivers of some sort. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks

do u see hdmi out at all, as you said u might need to install a driver

if it is a laptop dwnload this

Im running 32-bit so I installed the equivalent drivers to the ones you linked. This did not, however, fix the problem. HDMI out is still not showing up at all.

did u have the hdmi plugged in and restart it?

Also did u click on multiple displays, then click on my display is not shown. then rigorous display detection. and that u can force tv detection to i think.

Uh, i havent tried restarting it while the HDMI is in, no. Though i have tried plugging it in and seeing if HDMI out comes up with no luck. I'll try your suggestion now though.

I'm pretty sure its the gpu itself. (Assuming its your sig rig). I don't think the 8800m gts is capable of sending sound through the hdmi output. I know my 8800gtx on my sig rig can't. But when I used my friends laptop to watch a movie on a tv, all we had to do was plug the hdmi from the laptop to the tv and it sent sound and video without having to configure anything.
