I tried to remove my user account password through the users account page. I enter my current password and click remove, but it said windows cannot remove password. account/password policies require password. I have googled online saying I need to open up local security group to edit the password policies, but win7 home premium doesn't have local security group. Please help!

Are you using as admin?

Open command prompt and type the following-
type the
following command: net user user_name new_password When you do so, the password
changes without prompting you
again. This command also enables you
to change passwords in a batch file. Non-administrators receive a "System
error 5 has occurred. Access is
denied" error message

As you want blank password dont type anything after the user name.

Hiren's Boot CD allows you to find/remove/edit windows passwords.

1. open cmd
2. type "net user" (w/o ")
3. find the user who's password you need to change.
4. type "net user blank *" (blank being the name of the profile)
5. press enter when it allows you to change your password. not typing anything removes your password.
6. PROFIT!

kyle's method might work. I don't know since the computer is not with me right now. I will try later. 808 does work for win7 pro, ultimate, enterprise, but not with starter, basic, and home premium(which I have). I have already checked. the local users and group is not available under my home premium computer and available in professional on my other computer.
