Ok well I have been a strong AMD fan but wanted to change it up with some serious speed.

Ok So here it is
  • gigabyte EP45-UD3P
  • q9550
  • 4 gb G.skill 1066
  • 2x 640gb WD Black raid 0
  • Lian Li PC-V2000
  • Temporary 4830 sapphire
My HSF I will use

Thought I would try Mushkin for a PSU. Kinda cool you can switch it from single rail to quad rail.

I will be getting the next generation of ATI GPU once it comes out but ya..
I think this will be a solid gaming puter... no doubt.

Also will have a 500 gb & a 1tb for storage and 2 80gb's for my music and pictures.

Nah, this one cools just as good as the TRUE, had the link somewhere but not anymore, trust me its good.

Hey this thing is pretty zippy in Ubuntu, the HDD is the one thing taht sucks. You can hear it like spinning (like metallic buzzing and its slow).

But ya.
Looks good, but what about Core i7 and the i5?

What about it? I don't benchmark at all so its no concern of mine to have i7 and DDR3..

I just play the games man, lol.

Well I got the mobo for free from my dad ( a gift)

q9550 was $230

HDD were like 160 I think

Memory was 53

PSU is 140

Case I bought a long time ago for 150 shipped

4830 is 71.20 right now, ebay.

And I will be using my 24" Sceptre monitor.

also blu ray drive for 130 (X mas present
)

So ya, not that much really. but once I get the new GPU's (I'll crossfire them, although its 16x8 board)

I reckon will be a pretty penny.

also, whats a good sound card that is reasonably priced and some speakers.
