CM 690 Fan Size

First time poster, but been reading for some time. I just ordered a CM 690 case to move my previous build from a cheap poor ventilated case. I want to order the fans to arrive around the same time as the case and can't find what size, and how many to utilize what the case offers. Any help with this would be much appreciated! BTW you forums are great for people who have a budget and in need of solutions. Sadly, I could not move into my first choice Antec 1200 because the price. I got the refurbished CM 690 for 70 bucks after shipping and everything. The 1200 is definitely going into my next build, that’s not until next year though.

also i believe the 690 uses all 120mm fans
Hello and Welcome to OCn......120 mm will work on all of the fan locations

Cm690 Uses 2x 120 or 140mm fans for the "ceiling" exhaust fans and 1x 120/140 for the floor intake fan. The front bezel and rear I/O fans are both 120mm
Hope that helps
enjoy your new case- I'm sure you'll be well pleased with the improved ventilation!
Cheers

up to 140mm on the top, side panel, and bottom fan. Up to 120mm on the rear and front.
All the fan slots in the CM690 you can use 120mmX120mmX25mm except for the one behind the mobo tray which is 80mmX80mmX15mm. A total of 8 fans can be installed without mods and 9 with mods

IMHO nope. Get some scythe slip streams or some yate loons from petra's.

If you want some led 120mm fans then get some Antec Tricool fans from SVC.com for $4.99 each

great choice on the case. I'd go with the medium speed yates. I put three 140mm in and replaced the rest with the 120X20mm medium yates.

Sorry to keep this going, sorta a new to performance pc building. The Ultra Kaze from Scythe moves a lot more air, seems like a good idea for using these as exhaust, and the mediums for intake. My 9600 gt do not use a fan setup, it has a heatsink
More detail on this would be great. I don't mind the noise, I use headphones.

Can you link your card? I didn't know they made a 9600GTS, let alone one with just a heatsink.
I like the my cheap Cooler Master 120mm's. They're under 20db, move an ok amount of air (~40cfm advertised, less than that in my experience), and they're cheap ($10 for two before shipping).

Just a question, but can you put 120x38 fans on the case instead of 120x25 ones?
You can probably use 120x38mm for the rear exhaust. But depending on the cpu cooler you'll be using will determine if you have enough room for the top exhaust fan holes. Most cpu coolers are tall where I don't think a 120x38mm could fit for the top exhaust fan holes. For the front intake fan I believe only a 120x25mm will fit. If you wanted to just add a additional front intake fan through the 5.25 bay you could fit a 120x38mm fan. All you need to do is use zip ties on each side of the fan to attach it to the case.
