Ok, my Xai broke, my DA just broke, I'm returning my Valor. This means the only mouse i have left is a crappy logitech g5v2. I'm looking for a claw gripping mouse

These two mice use the same sensors but i heard they both had tracking issues. I will be using the mouse on a QCK heavy or perhaps I'll purchase a artisan g3 mid XXL later on.

The shape of the abyssus appeals to me but the shape of the CM spawn is intrighing, I'm willing to give it a shot. So which one has a better shape for a claw grip.

Price is not a factor but the abyssus is cheaper from where I'm from.

Which of these two mice is lighter?

The abbyssus looks like its got some crappy feet, how are the feet on the spawn?

Anyways, I'm leaning towards the spawn right now because it looks better built and has the 2 side buttons which is always a plus, but i don't necessarily need side-buttons. I live Canada BTW, if i go CM spawn, ill probably order from amazon with the express shipping. I really need your opinion guys. I'm also open to suggestions.

The Abyssus is lighter, but I feel like the shape is made more to look good than feel good.

Neither have tracking issues if you get the abyssus LOL edition

The feet seem to be of the same quality but the spawn have rounded edges and are thicker so they will last longer

ok so if i understand correctly, the only thing the abbyssus has over the spawn is the weight and the price. But is the spawn really living up to the hype? If someone has both mice, can they post a comparaison plz.

I like mine quite a bit, though I haven't compared it to a Spawn.

That's still not guaranteed. For example, I picked up both a standard and League of Legends edition a couple weeks ago and both jittered on my Talent. It's still a gamble.

First impressions on Spawn (just my 2nd day using it):

Some people stated that it requires a bit of time to get used to Spawn's shape but for me this shape was very natural. If your grip is fingertip too, I definetly recommend this mouse. It's odd when you first see in the pictures but when you grip it, it just fits.

I felt the known sharp edges of the feet but after a few minutes I almost couldn't feel them anymore. I guess that in a week that feeling will be 100% gone. BTW, those feet are very nice and glides completely smoothly on Goliathus Speed, much better than Abyssus feet.

Yesterday, MB1 and MB2 was feeling different (MB1 a bit sharper; MB2 a bit lighter to activate) but nothing to be concerned about. For me this is specially good because I play StarCraft II and the easy click of MB2 is very welcomed. But today (2nd day using it), they're feeling pretty much the same.

I had the issue that some people have had with the software. Oddly enough, for me the program freezes only when Google Chrome is opened. In fact, if I let the browser opened and click "Ok" or "Apply", the program remains freezed; whenever I choose to close it, then after a few moments the program unfreezes (sucessfully exits on "Ok" or applies on "Apply").

I'm still testing it right now. In a few days I'll post a review of it, with a bit of comparisons to Abyssus, which was my main mouse until yesterday.

This is not guaranteed. I have owned two LoL edition Abyssus' from Amazon about 3 months apart and both of them jittered on vertical angles on cloth pads.

The weight of the abyssus is really attractive right now, but whats the point of having a light mouse if you can't move it fast and smoothly over your mousepad because of the bad mousefeet. I'm still leaning towards the CM spawn, but i need a more indept comparaison from experienced FPS players.

The Spawn is a great little, no-frills, but very solid performing mouse. The feel and build quality is better than any of the Razer mice I've owned or used (DA 3G, DA 3.5G, Mamba, Lachesis, Diamondback), though I've never had an Abyssus. The Spawn's initial firmware had some flaws, but Ver. 32 works extremely well on dark/black mousepads (your QCK Heavy will work great with it), but not so great on white or light-colored mousepads (for that, you can use FW Ver. 30a, but it will have a higher LOD). My Spawn was one of the early ones, which I managed to get on eBay, before they were officially released in the US, and the skates had sharp edges, that took a while to break in, but now they are as smooth as anything else on the market, including Hyperglides. The new Spawns supposedly have rounded edges on the skates, so there shouldn't be much, if any, break-in period. I've had my Spawn 3+ months at this point, and the skates still look and work great. The Spawn doesn't jitter on any pad I've tried, whether hard or cloth. Love this mouse.

I'm gonna be honest here, I thought about it, and i think the abyssus is better suited for me since it'll probably up my game more than the Spawn will. I mean there's no noticable characteristic on the spawn that will make me perform better.

Although the only thing the Abyssus has over the Spawn is the weight, none of the spawns pros: Sidebuttons, Build quality, (shape i don't know) will be better for gaming.

Overall, which mouse do you think will be better for gaming?

The thing is, the abyssus feels really good if you use clawgrip, BUT only until you sweat just a little bit.
So after a few minutes ingame, you find yourself pressing the mouse harder and harder to not lose the grip.

Is it harder to grip than the deathadder, cause I had one and I had no issues with it. Maybe it's the fact that I was palmgripping the DA and the Abyssus is a claw-grip

Spawn:
+ for no jitter on any mousepads I've tried
+ for build quality
+ for side buttons
+ for optical encoder on scroll wheel
+ for DPI buttons
+ for rubber side grips
+ for macro capability
- for weight (though it's not heavy at all, just heavier than Abyssus)

Abyssus:
+ for weight (vs. Spawn and most other mice)
- for sharp edges
- for glossy finish
- for jitter on some mousepads (may or may not apply, it's a gamble)

Pretty easy choice, if you ask me. My $0.02.

Now I will be honest too...

There's no hardware in the earth that will make you a better gamer, I think you should be aware of that. It will at most stop bothering you in very tiny and specific points but by any means it will be a significant part in leveling up your gaming skills.

A nice hardware will help, yes, but only up to a certain point. If you give a crappy mouse and a crappy keyboard to a good player he will still motha****'n pown you with the best mouse and the best keyboard.
