Two mice. Two names which are fairly new to the gaming mouse market. One battle for superiority as the finest mouse.
I've been using the CM Storm Sentinel Advance for nearly one year now. It has been a mostly positive experience. Just the other day was Intel LANFest 2011 at the Folsom Intel building. I won a Gigabyte M8000X mouse and a Gigabyte K8100 yellow keyboard (possible review soon) during the raffle. I'm now home, and ready to write up a storm!

I'd first like to talk about the Sentinel. The best things about this mouse are the amazing number of features and the comfort. Many lighting colors to choose from, plenty of uses and custom macros for the side buttons, five different profiles for everything, an amazingly useful and fun OLED screen, an easy-to-use and detailed software... I can go on about features for a long time but those are my favorites. You can Google the mouse to find out all of the details. The mouse is incredibly comfortable. The side buttons are in a perfect place and the whole grip and sides of the mouse are a smooth rubber which prevents sweat. The main buttons are just a normal plastic. It fits in my hand flawlessly and I never once felt uncomfortable. The mouse does look very baller and I'd always get comments from the LAN homies on how pimp it is. The only real problem is Cooler Master's disability to support the product even months after release. Software hasn't been updated in over a year. There's many problems that need to be fixed and the community on the forum is literally begging for the 1.4 software. Cooler Master kept saying that "1.4 comes soon" for a while until randomly they seemed to have abandoned the forum and left users lost in the dark. The situation in the CM Storm forum is much like the situation in the forum for the game Breach. Lastly, Cooler Master has released mouse pads specifically advertised for this mouse and they all seem to have one issue or another. On my CM Storm soft pad, the mouse would move quite a few pixels when clicking down and drag whatever I'm clicking on. My CM Storm hard pad didn't even work the slightest bit. Mouse works fine on the table and doesn't even work at all on the hard pad. I love this mouse to death but the cons are major. I recommend this mouse, but barely. I'd give this mouse a 3.5 out of 5 stars.
Moving along, I'd like to talk a bit about the Gigabyte "Ghost" M8000X. Firstly, this mouse is brilliantly pimp. It looks incredible. Has surprisingly more color options than the Sentinel but it only changes the color of the small "Ghost" logo. Nearly the entire mouse has the nice rubber non-sweat finish that I enjoy so dearly. The way it fits in my hand is much different than the Sentinel and I must admit that I don't dig it as much. I'm going to need some time to adjust my hands to the way it feels. If you like that Logitech G-series feel and aren't willing to step into new grounds, look elsewhere. It has a very unique feel in the grip. Some cool features include a button to change the colors, four lights to show DPI setting, two conveniently placed side buttons with many uses or custom macros available to assign, and a very straight-forward software that is to-the-point and gets things done. Once again, these are only my favorite features and there's plenty of other cool stuff if you look into it. Almost forgot to mention how it works perfectly on that CM Storm hard pad which I mentioned earlier. Burn. I really have to nitpick if I wish to find dislikes. The mouse sometimes drifts a random direction by itself after I pick it up and set it back down. Not a big deal for me. I only hope that they aren't going to screw me on the updates and support. Giving this baby a 4.5 out of 5 stars.
Even with the Ghost getting a considerably higher score, I'd like to make it clear that these mice come very close. They're both amazing mice. The Sentinel would win if it weren't for the painful cons.
