Hey I've been playing cod2 for about ehh 3-4 years now and maybe 5 months ago I could get 125 constant fps and maybe it would drop down to 124 but ya... now Im getting 125 but it will drop down to 80 and go back up toa diferent number but avg is between 80-125 now.. could downloading a different catalyst solve this? I use the same settings on catalyst now as I did when I was getting 125 constant what could be wrong? can I overclock my video card ..some one said they dont oc well

well cod1 + cod2.. im goin to try different versions on catalyst and se if it helps or not when I get home

First off i dont' think the game has been out that long.<br><br>
Second, i have the same video card as you<br>
It seems to overclock somewhat decent. I went from 425/430 stock to 450/500 oc. But i recommend a different heat sink besided the stock.<br><br>
Two tools that you can use to oc are ATItool and ATI Tray Tool. ATI tray tool seems to work better for me

Are you using directX 7or directX 9 rendering mode in COD2? Maybe that got switched by accident, and lower FPS resulted.

I had to put it on dx 7 so that my fps would stay higher...Ill try oc'ing my gfx card when I get home

anythings about your refresh rate is just extra anyways whats the big deal?

That's odd since I usually get 40-60. I'd say you're doing fine considering.

Thats not possible. My FX57, and 7800GTX SLI didnt get that high.<br />

I'm guessing you mean COD1..

</div>Actually I just read through and he's running DX7 mode so it's entirely possible. I would say run driver cleaner and update to the latest drivers after. That should fix it.
