This will get you entered. You will have until January 4th, 2010 to submit your final OC results.

If your card is accepted into the competition (ie, there are no volt-mods, and if it's a GT200-based chip) you will be added to the Spreadsheet below with all the information listed.

You can submit Overclock results as many times as wanted, as long as all criteria are met every time you submit a new OC. Be aware though, that you can only post your absolute last OC result on the final day of competition. Once you submit the first time on that day, it's final!

Air Cooling and Water Cooling is allowed.
NO VOLT-MODS!
Volt-modding gives an unfair advantage and almost
guarantees a win. Let's keep it fair people.
This means no BIOS mods, no software voltage increases,
and no hardware voltmods!

The Winner will be chosen through a variety of different variables,
a formula that will be at a classified state.

The Spreadsheet in this thread will show all the required information,
and will change frequently for all submitted Overclocks. Keep your eyes on it!

Unlike the G92 shootout, we will have the statistics of everyone's overclock
for public viewing, considering that there will be different prizes as well as
(hopefully) more participants.

Prize:

1st Place: One full year Overclocked Account!
2nd Place: Six months Overclocked Account!
3rd Place: Three months Overclocked Account!

This gives everyone a goal, and gives everyone a chance to win something
.
Note: Considering that Moderators/Editors/etc have OC'd accounts already, the prize will be given to the runner-up in the event that a staff member wins the shootout.
Note: If a member wins who already has an OC'd account, an additional year will be added to whatever subscription they currently have.

Good luck, happy burning

Valid Cards:
GTX 260 | GTX 275 | GTX 280 | GTX 285 | GTX 295
All variations allowed

If you have a multi-gpu card can you run just a single GPU to even things up with the others?
That's a fair point. I can push the 2nd core of my 295 a few dozen MHz higher core for some reason. But it would screw up the Furmark benchmarks, I'd have to use nHancer to try and force it to run on GPU 2. Not even sure if that's possible.
ill give it a try!
My first entry has been PMed.
We can submit more then one, right? I have a 295 water-cooled in my sig rig, and an air-cooled GTX 260 in another. If I win first and second prize do I get a year and a half overclocked? I can dream...

I don't think the 260 has a chance on air, but after RMAing my 295 and re-doing the cooling block, I might have a chance. I'll see how far I can push it for 8 minutes stable.

That's a good question. I've never dealt with dual-GPU cards, I... simply don't have an answer. I'd imagine though that the GPU itself isn't what's on the table, it's the card in it's wholeness, so overall what the card can perform is I guess what I'm trying to say.

Yes, you can enter multiple times as many cards as you have. Just make sure that you submit new data for every card (meaning ATiTool, Furmark, GPU-Z validation, et al).

And no, haha, you'll only win the upper-range of where you stand. Meaning if you win first and second, you'll only be counted towards first place, and the second place spot that you'd occupy would be vacant for someone else.

I understand. The problem is that by default most benchmarking tools (including FurMark and ATI) don't use both GPUs - I force FurMark to with nHancer, and it doubles the FPS as well as heats up both cores (previously, it would only heat up the first GPU). In my case, that doesn't really help as the second GPU can OC higher then the first, but in the reverse situation someone who didn't enable SLI would effectively be overclocking and benching the first core alone. I suppose you could add rules that it has to have SLI forced, but that can be difficult (it took me almost an hour of experimentation to finally get FurMark to run on both). Then again, I don't think it makes much of a difference. On both of my cards, the second GPU was only slightly better (a few MHz, 10 at the most).

My 285s can run furmark for 1/2 hour at clocks that'll crash in seconds in vantage or artifact just as fast in atitool, but it is good for checking max temps.

First entry added
.

Definitely going to need at LEAST 15 participants. Bring it on people!

They all 3 together catch more, but I agree that overall furmark is the most rigorous. I've run my computer for days stable, including lots of gaming with cryostasis and the like, to have furmark crash within 30 seconds. I use 10 seconds furmark when I'm in the initial stage of OC tweaking.

Sent in application. Spent forever tinkering with settings to try and get a stable Furmark run at 738 core, but it almost always crashed on startup or in the first 5 seconds, on the few times it didn't it *always* froze at 67% when the side of the doughnut circles around close to the screen, necessitating a hard restart - I corrupted several files on my SSD due to so many hard restarts, luckily nothing important

I think I can squeeze a hair more out of the memory and possibly the core, but I'll wait and see what other entries look like first. It might help to open the window farther, I could drop the ambient down to ~0c pretty easily (northern winters FTW) and keep the water at ~5c to avoid freezing, but I have to sleep here too and going too cold screws up the thermostat in the living room

OP Updated, Joshconsulting added!

(I added a sample PM to the OP)
I just got a GTX275 today... although, with my 9800GX2 frying due to my OC (i believe) i wont enter this time...
YGPM. I've been tinkering with trying to get a slightly higher OC stable in Furmark. Can I resubmit if I finally get that thing Furmark stable?

Yep! You can resubmit any entry as many times as you like.
