As you can see, I'm going to be cooling my CPU and GPU in this computer. There will be a red, white and black theme throughout.

This is what I'm starting with, his name is "Oliver". (Ignore my horrible camera skills.)

"Why are you changing this?" I hear you might ask.

My reply: "Eh, I'm kinda bored and I had some money burning a hole in my wallet, why not?"

Awesome, subbed. Out of interest, where abouts in Australia are you from and how much did the shipping cost to you?

Thanks for the interest.

I'm a couple hours drive south of Perth, capital city of Western Australia.

It cost 120 US$ for a 15 pound (~7kg) package. It was 100$ for regular shipping.

It was cheaper to get all my stuff shipped over from America than get them all in Australia. Shame about that. I've seen you around a bit and I know you're coming to Australia. Where are you gonna be?

Wow, that's not too bad actually. Yeah, I have been looking on shipping website in Australia (PCCaseGear) and such and it really depends what you're having shipped doesn't it? Sometimes websites quote you $80 for a 1 Kg package because they're so far away, it's quite ridiculous. I'll bare in mind a US retailer next time I have to order anything.

Aren't you worried about customs slapping tax on your goods, though?

I'm moving to a town called Mittagong, it's just inland from Sydney.

PCCaseGear has a great range and their customer support it great but you pay for it a bit more then other places. It does depend on what you're looking at. Was just wondering where you were going to see if I could recommend a site, PCCG is good.

Wasn't worried, I am a bit now :/

Hey, just saw this build. Looks like it'll be a lot of fun
smile.gif

Just a quick piece of advice, I noticed you are setting the fans on your rad in a PULL configuration. PUSH is going to give you better performance (a difference of roughly 2c delta). If you can manage it, PUSH with a shroud will give you close to the same performance as PUSH/PULL will.

Anyway, subbing and will be checking it out.

I saw somewhere (I think it was someones sig) that 1000RPM = Push, 1500RPM = Either and 2000+RPM = Pull. I also saw somewhere that pull is quieter, that's one of the main things I'm going for.

Thanks for the little piece of advice though

P.S. I kinda want the rad to cover the fans by being over them. If the fans were in push then they would be right in your face, I don't want that. Just my opinion

I'd say 'don't worry about it' but I know exactly what the UK and Australian borders are like. If they can make an easy buck then they will.

Make sure you keep me informed as to what they charge you (if they charge you) - it would be very helpful for me in the future.

PS. Looking forward to seeing updates!

pull is better for low rpm fans, push is better for medium to high rpm fans so yeah.. it depends on what you're going for. Most of the people I've done builds for run their fans from 1500rpm-2000rpm, so I always recommend push.

a fan shroud will always give you better performance though, regardless of push or pull. They're a great way to boost your performance, and stifle some of the fan noise at the same time.

Sure thing, I'll let you know. How will they charge me?

I'm looking forward to seeing updates too.

Gear should be here Monday or Tuesday. (Hopefully)

P.S. Monday/Tuesday is about 36-60 hours for those of you in a different time zone

Oh, cool. I don't have many fans laying around to give the chop. I'll see how push looks when I put it together, whaddayaknow, I may look awesome.

Thanks for the info

EDIT: Just got an e-mail through. Stuff was sent on Friday, not sure if 3-5 days includes weekends or not, is is express after all. Should come tomorrow, hopefully not the day after because I'll be out of town :/
