Tell me your thoughts and how to improve my build, don't bother with sale links atm, and the case will be bought elsewhere, newegg is overpriced for it, I'm aware.

I'm hoping in a few months it'll be 1400-1600 rather then the ~2000 it is atm.

If your planing to add another 4870x2 in the future I would go with the Corsair 1000W instead, 850 will be pulling it to close!

Agreed. You might also want to look at a different motherboard (possibly x48) if you plan on doing dual 4870x2's.

Low Strife I knowz you from H3F lol, and can you recommend a mobo for me? Also, would I notice any real big difference with the second 4870x2?
You will notice a difference, but you would be better of with a single 4870 instead as the 4th GPU is kinda like the 5th wheel on the wagon and won't give you much extra preformance.

So I should save my money in that scenario and just get a 3rd 4870, sounds like a pretty solid idea. Plus then with the money i save there I can pay for the 1000W.

As for a mobo:

Sounds good I will be updating OP.

Updated OP with mobo and 1000W PSU. However, since I'm only going to have a 4870 and a 4870x2 instead of 2 4870x2, will I be able to save $120 bucks and go with the 850W PSU?

Save a bit and get a Q9550. $60 isn't worth it for you:

Otherwise it looks good.
Alright, sounds good. Yeah $60 bucks for 1.7mhz is a bad call lol.

how much better is that heatsink then the arctic cooling?

Is there any particular reason to go with a X48 board?

I plan on adding a 4870 to accompany the 4870x2 later.

Thermalright Ultra-120 or Tuniq Tower 120 then Strife?

16x16 crossfire, or at least 16x8 (vs 8x8 with the P5Q Pro). The 4870x2 would need the bandwith.

I'm understanding why I'm spending the extra $30 now.

Anyone on the thermaltake ultra 120 vs tuniq tower 120 battle??
The TRUE is a good bit better than the Tuniq tower. Just make sure it's the TRUE and not the TRU that newegg sells.

Also, you really shouldn't get a DFI mobo. Yes they're good overclockers, but if you have problems with it, their tech support is useless. As is their RMA service.
I agree with all the above comments, but nobody has suggested replacing your 1st HDD with this. For an extra $5, you are getting one of the best 7200 RPM HDD's on the market.
