My moms computer downstairs just recently stopped being able to connect to the router. It keeps trying to "acquire network address" but never does.

If for some reason it does, it still doesn't have internet access, and instead just keep connecting and disconnecting.

Has anybody else had this problem?

no power outtages, and didn't mess with settings.

I tried unplugging it for 2 minutes, and plug it back in, and my wireless network still won't connect. my computer is hard wired to it and works though...and the adapter on the downstairs computer recognizes the network, so it's getting good signal. It just won't permanently connect.

EDIT: It connects, but says "limited to no connectivity"

Go to command promt and type ping 192.168.1.1 to see if you're even connected to your router. If you are, find your wireless network connection properties, then scroll down to internet protocol, make sure it is set up to receive the ip adress from the dhcp. If it's a laptop make sure if you have an external wireless button that it's turned on. (We get this all the time). Good luck.

Make sure all of your settings in setup and wireless are correct. Be sure to see if the routers DHCP Release/Renew will help out, Make sure the router's default gateway is set correctly, make sure the key is correct, if you are using MAC Address Filters make sure the device info is in that table.

ok, I tried pinging the router, and it doesn't work, says host unreachable.

I'm curious as to why it would do this all of a sudden. one day it works, a week ago it stops. it's really annoying.
