Computer won't boot with 4 sticks

I am running my computer with 2 x 1GB sticks in dual channel.
When i insert all 4 identical memory sticks 4 x 1GB the pc won't boot to windows and i just get a black screen.
Does anybody know if i need to change any BIOS settings?
I am running windows xp which i know will only read 3 GB but if i am correct it should still boot with 4 GB?

This is my rig

Motherboard Asus P5N32SLI SE DELUXE
Core 2 Duo E6600 Overclocked to 2.93 Ghz
Corsair XMS2 PC 6400 4-4-4-12
Memory running unlinked at 800 Mhz T1

Did you load optimized defaults in the BIOS when you inserted them?
Have you updated your mobo BIOS to the latest version?

You should be able to find the latest BIOS for your board here and they might have a fix for your RAM issues:

My guess is the northbridge, add a little more voltage as your putting more stress on it with more sticks.
does each stick of RAM pass mem test by itself (and even in each slot)?
Set everything back to stock also, a stable OC with 2 sticks can become unstable with 4.

agreed
you could also try loosening the timings a bit

Thanks for your helpful info, i will try to set back to default and try the north bridge.
Cheers.
With 4 sticks you may need to increase the voltage on the northbridge and vDimm. You probably won't have to increase the timings unless the RAM is running over its rated speeds.

I second that.
