Nasty... think about all the lead from the solder and plastic oils mixing with the oil.

Yeah, in fact there's a video of this at TH -- oil can be a very effective cooler. <b>BUT</b>,if you use vegetable oil ( as they did ) , in time it becomes rancid with bacteria, and it'll screw up components. If you do this, you need mineral oil or some sort of synthetic oil.

Running a computer in oil is cool and all but I dont think can really use vegtable oil because I think it goes off after a few weeks then your Motherboard smells. So maybe theres a better type of oil for longer term use.<br />

I have heard of oil set ups before. Havnt seen one running in person yet... Some one get a youtube video up.
