Well i used to have a radeon 9600 pro and i would get 50 fps average on ati tool (25 beta 16) and on counter-stirke source's video stress test i got around 40 and now i have a x850pro and i get a 313 fps average on ati tool but only get 44 fps on counter-strike sources video stress test why is my x850pro doing this???????????

Do you have higher settings on the CSS stress test? It would probably default to higher resolution, more AA, higher detail, etc.

I would guess that your CPU would be causing the problem since ATI tool is only graphics related whereas CS stress test takes your CPU into account.<br />

no i put in on the same settings that i used with my radeon 9600 my settings are:<br />
2x AA<br />
4x AF<br />
Full HDR<br />
All Shadows,textures and stuff on high<br />
Color Correction Is on

Turn HDR off. This really eats away at FPS <img src="/images/smilies/wink.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Wink" class="inlineimg" />

I can only recommend turning off HDR and shaders.<br />
They're making the game more eyecandy than playable.<br />
<br />
And yes, the CS:S stress test definely eats alot of CPU power.

hmm i turned off HDR and now i get 50 fps <img src="/images/smilies/smile.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Smile" class="inlineimg" /> but i think i should be getting more?

gonx how do i turn off the shaders ?? do you mean turn them on low?

</div>Yes, and possibly running the game with the command line "-dxlevel 80"<br />
It's kinda unneccesary as your GFX handles shaders fine.<br />
I had to do this with one of my older graphics card (FX 5200) to let it work fluent.

Dont worry about it dude. I get 550fps average on ATItool and get 160fps average on css stress test. Not sure why but i dont think u can compare the two programmes.
