Congratz to our Misfit friend on reaching his first million.

And, he's our 442nd millionaire... not long until we hit 450!

So well done, and enjoy your new status.

Yo, homeboy! Great job, fellow Misfit! You won't take nearly as long for 2M, folding those bigadvs!
Congrats fellow Misfit... Thanks for the -bigadv help.

Oh, it will, it will! 13 bigadvs will get you right around 1M pnts at 74-75k per.
Even at 4 days per, that's well under 2 months! Keep on folding! Didn't you get OVER 400K last month?

That's assuming I get 13 bigadvs, which I doubt I will.
And 400k? Meh. You got OVER 1MIL! I really want a Fermi right now, but I'm gonna hold up till ATi GPU3 client comes out, I wonder how much improvement I'll get on 2 5770s compared to the current client ..

I wouldn't hold my breath. They've been saying it's coming for a long while, but I would plan to go with nVidia until the client is actually here, and working bug free.

Ah okay, I would love to get a 470 now and go SLi later, but I'm short on cash at the mo with all I've spent in my water loop.
I could actually sell both the 5770s but I'm slightly concerned about Fermi heat/power usage.

I do have a Gigabyte AM2+ mobo and some OCZ DDR2 ram lying around though. I might just stick in my replaced 1055T and H50, clock it to 3.8 or so and run that as well. But I'll need to buy a PSU first; took the old one apart for cleaning, put it back together and it doesn't power on anymore!

Go for the GTS 450 then... 150W usage, and doesn't get very hot. And gets ~14k with the 9xx WUs when OC'd.

Its payday next Friday!
So GTS450 it is! But I'm not sure which version to get!
I've just been reading a thread on GTS450 PPD here and CyGnus mentioned his card is an Asus with Direct CU which seems to be very good at cooling. I think its this card. But then there's the PALIT Sonic Platinum version. Both are same price but:
Asus
783/3600

PALIT
930/4000

What do I do? This will be my 1st nVidia card and I don't know anything about them!

EDIT: Just found an overclocked version of the Asus card

DirectCu cards are very good. I have a 5850 DirectCu and it never broke 70 degrees, even overclocked. I'm actually trying to sell it right now to pay off my debt for my 470, though, haha.

Cheers for confirming that!
And good luck with the sale!

I have now decided to go with an ASUS DirectCU GTX 460 768MB - £124. According to a couple of reviews I've just looked at, performance to price to watts, GTX 460 is better than GTS 450, unless I read it wrong ..

So yeah, here's to more PPD for OCN!

Too bad you don't live in the States, you could get a GTX470 for $220 USD.

~£140!

But I still wouldn't buy it, probably, coz I need to think about heat/power consumption as well ..
