I bought simcity 2013 little late compare to other people but few days ago i wanted to get refund for the game, the first person i talk to on origin support won't give me refund but i didn't give up i keep on trying.
I told origin support simcity 2013 has many problem. after 20min of chatting with the support i ask if there is supervisor i can chat with it. origin support said there is but he will say same thing about this matter no refund for simcity. after 10min of struggle to transfer me to his supervisor i was able to chat with the supervisor finally. I explained all the issue with this game. supervisor also keep refusing me for refund but after 30 min of chatting with him he finally gave me refund. so took around 1 hour to convince them to get my money back.

Maybe not. That is not what has been happening for the past months:

http://business.financialpost.com/2013/03/18/electronic-arts-ceo-john-riccitiello-to-step-down-march-30/

Quote:
"My decision to leave EA is really all about my accountability for the shortcomings in our financial results this year," Mr. Riccitiello said in a blog post.

Mr. Riccitiello said in his resignation letter to the board that the company's fourth-quarter earnings - which will be announced on May 7, along with EA's fiscal year 2013 results - are likely to come in at the low end of the EA's forecast.

"In offering my resignation, my goal is to allow the talented leaders at EA a clean start on FY14," he wrote. The company also fell short of the internal operating plan set one year ago, Mr. Riccitiello said, who claimed accountability for the miss.

"They were almost consistently trending down and missing guidance and expectations," said Rob Enderle, principal analyst and president of the Enderle Group. "A CEO doesn't last indefinitely under those conditions."

At the end of January, EA forecast non-GAAP revenue for the year to end-March of between US$3.8-billion and $3.9-billion with earnings of US$0.86 to US$1.00 per share, from US$1.00 to US$1.15 per share previously.

If they actually learn from their mistakes and start treating customers fairly, it's a win for everyone.

Profitability comes from repeat customers, maybe they'll finally figure that out.

And yet people keep giving ea their money, EA is not at fault here in any way, the customer deserves it for supporting this garbage company, every single customer deserves what they got. Ooooo EA is releasing a new game based on a franchise old dirt, let's buy it thinking EA will play nice

Next time just tell them either they give you the refund or you file it locally in court. if they punish you for filing legally, tell them that you will take that up too. As their EULA cannot keep you from consumer rights. After you explain that, see how long it takes for the refund. I'm sure a sup will get the message loud and clear, either you get your refund now or they spend money on an attorney or rep and you still get the refund.

I never had issues with their refund policy, you push hard enough and they will give you the game back. I don't like the refund policy as it makes the consumer go through BS, however I have no doubt in my mind that they will comply. I have seen that method used before with very quick results, try getting a MS tech to unlock your key after they botch.... Trust me, you start pressing legal issues and they start complying a lot quicker. =)

EA won't fall. They will simply buy out a studio that has made a new hit IP and force them to make a sequel full of DRM and micro transactions. And people will buy it because they loved the first game.

Heh, if any one goes though something like this you should save the chat and post it as a guide to getting a refund. I've tried this few times and never been successful.

I know they have the whole thing where by agreeing to their TOS you give up the right to a class action lawsuit, but you've gotta believe if anythings warranted one, this is it. Banning someones account for contacting their place of purchase no matter what its for? How asinine.
