Warning - This is most off topic, off topic post EVER!

Hey guys - Ive worn glasses since I was 6 and I hate them lol

So I decided to give contacts a try - First time the eye girl(lol) put them in for me and I couldn't stop blinking (which is normal)

She then told me how to take them out and I could do it within 10secs as I have not problem with touching my eyes.

But when I came to putting them back in - I sux - I think the girl had "hax" its easy for her Everytime I try to put it in It gets stuck on my eyelashes.

Im just wondering if anyone here has contacts and can they post their methods of insertion, cause I actully take around 30mins to put them in and I end up gettin more pissed off and as a result it gets harder, and harder.

Thanks guys

Ya sure! You know how they show you to put them in? I have never done it like that since it takes me 30mins and I keep hitting the lashes. What I do is take the opposite hand of the eye (right eye, I use my left hand. left eye, right hand) and I basically take thumb and pointer finger and strech my eyelid open (they tell me the way I do it isn't good, f them) Then in my other hand I put the contact on the pointer finger. Not the pad of it but damn near the very tip. Then I touch the very top part of the contact to my eye and slide it in and blink once to center it.

Oh and as far as blinking, it is normal to blink more than with glasses but you shouldn't be blinking constantly. That's a sign you need to clean them out or they have torn somewhere. When looking at a computer screen it gets really bad and sometimes I have to take a break and close my eyes for a bit.

It's not like you're putting your nasty butt-picking fingers into direct contact with your eyes.

It's more like you undergo a 2 minute scrub procedure and rest a piece of plastic on the finger and place that into direct contact with your eye. You don't even notice that they are there after the first ten minutes you put them in. You just SEE the world without metal and glass hanging from your face.

ok ive been weraing contacts for around a year and i think they are the greatest inversion evaa...cleaning them is the most important thing..make sure you wash your hands properly before touching them and putting them in and taking them out...ok now be sure to get good quality ones...i use freshlook ones and they are incredibly comfortable and i can never feel them..btw mine are monthly disposeables (sp?)..now i feel your pain because the 1st time i got them it took me 45 mins to put them in ...my brother had to hold one eye lid open and i help the other open and he would stick his finger in my eye and asoon as he got close i would shut my eye..................ok now onto the method...take the contact lense and put it on your middle finger, now put it right on the tip ok and put a drop of saline solution in the contact..ok use your finger next to your pinkie on the same hand to hold open your bottom eye lid and your left hands middle finger to hold open the top eyelid..and jus gently touch the middle finger (the one with the contact lense on it) onto your iris and the contact lense will just stick to your eye and fall of your finger..thats the reason for the drop of solution in the lense prior to putting it in and just blink a few times and your done!

See that's the method they teach you. Where you use one part of each hand to hold one eye open. Mine you use one hand to hold one eye open. Their's just wont hold my eye open far enough for me. I always bump my eyelid.

I use your method modki. Use one hand to keep the eye open, the other to stick the contact in. Works good. You gotta find your own method of doing it that works for you. Because everyone is different.

Hold your eye open with one hand, pop it in with the other. After a month or so it'll just become natural. I don't even think about mine anymore.

OK, I'll do this example for right eye.

Take left hand practically over head, using middle finger to lift upper eye-lid. Use the middle finger of the right hand to lower the lower eye-lid. Use pointer finger of right hand to place contact in eye.

man i really dont want contacts but it would be a whole lot easier i think than glasses. i have to wear glasses because of an optic nerve problem with the right eye. the left eye was good for a while but recently has started to blur up. i will never see 20/20 from my right eye but at least i have my left. good luck handlez.
