Is there anyway I can do this with minimal loss in quality?

Convert to mp3 vbr -0.

I personally do not use a iPod therefore I convert all my FLAC to Vorbis level 6, I get same quality as a high quality mp3 and a smaller file.

With this program you can convert from anything to anything pretty much... you just need the required codecs.

seconded. the new version even uses all 8 threads of a core i7 to batch encode/transcode... pretty awesome

if you have a dual core or quad core it will use as many threads as it can find

Eh, I'm not sure it would sound as great as FLAC but you can convert them to mp3, sure.

Lucky for me I have a PSP with custom firmware and can use LightMP3 to play FLAC files

An iPod won't play FLAC anyway. It would need to be converted to ALAC.

what version is your ipod?
you can play FLAC on them with a ROCKBOX mod

it will depend on your version though for a "stable" mod
I have it on my mini 2nd gen and so far so good (very stable)
you can drag and drop any FLAC file to its HD without any problems...

edit.
+wav files too

Well, it's an iPod Nano 3rd Generation. That's all I know.
