cpu cooler is a heatsink fan combo...heatsink sits on chip....fan cools heatsink.
tornado's are good fans...fast but loud.

so... heatsink sits on top of CPU? I don't see anything on my CPU...

is there a proper name for that heatsink?
the heatsink is basically a piece for metal on top of the cpu if there was no heatsink and fan i would be worried yet suprised on how ur computer boots lol

there has to be a heatsink on top of your cpu...

the heatsink is a chunk of aluminum(sometimes copper, copper is better) that presses down onto your cpu to absorb heat , the fan cools down the heatsink

all intel/amd chips come with a heatsink/fan combo

the cpu IS the processor

the heatsink is directly on top of the cpu.. you shouldnt be able to see the actual cpu

...unless you have a 486(pre-pentium), lol

1. is the CPU

2. heatsink with a small fan. The aluminum part is the actuall heat sink.
