I bought five of these power supplies to run with Foxconn AM3 motherboards (don't have the exact models right now, sorry.)

I tried two separate PSUs on two motherboards and neither board posted while on those PSUs. Switch to a differnet PSU and bingo, the mobos post.

Can it be that there are two bad PSUs in the batch? Or can it be that the mobo is picky about its PSU? I would have thought that, generally speaking, any PSU in the last several years would work with any mobo of the past several years. Is this not the case?

These PSU's are just mediocre 400W units.

What else is on those setups that you equipped with those units?

These were going into router / appliance builds. Basically including mobo / CPU / 2 gb RAM / 2 NICs / Hard Drive.

Perhaps I should just send 'em back as a bad job.
