Today I succesfully installed my Big Typhoon 120 VX in my box, I also changed 2 fans in my case... one infront to a 16,5 CFM fan, and one in the back to a 31,5 CFM fan. Now when I started the computer up it Alarmed me that there was no System Fan running, but I was kinda used to that cause when I had the old CPU cooler installed it alarmed during boot up that there was no CPU fan, which after awhile started showing RPM's in bios. So I thought maybe BT was simply better and now System was gonna Alarm, that wouldnt have bothered me so much since it used to Alarm for about 20 seconds.
But the Alarm didnt stop this time it just kept goin, so I disabled the sound since I could see with my own eyes the fan WAS in fact running. But was it running with 31,5 CFM? HARDLY, I dont think this even qualifies as 10 CFM, altough this is a 3-pin fan just like the old one and I put it at System fan Pins on the motherboard. It just doesnt seem to be running at maximum. I dont have a Fan controller installed so it cant be that, that's keeping the fan from running at full speed. The BT CPU cooler also have the same problem... I can barely feel any air/draft coming from the cooler, but since Im a total noob and this bein the first time I ever changed a CPU cooler maybe it Cools the heatsink by blowing air at it instead from it.
With One side open I get about 36 degrees in idle havent checked in load yet, but I did try with the side close, it then went up to 42 in idle and 47 in load thoose 5 mins I played Prey.
So anyone knows what's up? Is the fan broken or what? I just got it. I have tried change side of the fan, but with no better result. And oh yea I said I changed 2 fans... the front fan seems to be working fine.
So Please Help, Thank you.
