How do you guys keep your laptops cool or at least not hot? My brother's laptop heats up like crazy. When I used Speedfan, the temps were crazy some were in the 50s, 60s, and the remote something was 79C. I ordered one of the stands with two fans on the bottom to place the laptop on. Anything else can be done?

That's not too hot for a lappy...

What is he doing that it heats up so much? The Lapcool you ordered will help a bit, but I don't see other solutions

I just got a Yate Loon pad on ebay for about $15 shipped. And that is all you really can do for laptops. They are meant to be run hot, I suggest you get the program called Notebook Hardware Control 2.0. This program will allow you to adjust the Mhz on the laptop. So when using the battery I use the "Max Battery" profile and this underclocks my comp to as low as 600mhz and keeps it very cool. While when I a plugged in I use "Dynamic Switching" which will change the multi depending on processor use. This in all keep its running very cool. I in the past would hit 70C on this think but now barely hit 60C and eve now get to mid 50C with the chill pad.

Yeah that's not too hot. My friends was getting in the 85C range while gaming and I think they are usually rated for 100C+. Just keep the fan intake open to fresh air and don't worry about it. Remember if it blows up just send it back since it's the manufacturers fault, not yours.
