The water cooling units made by coolit are good and what he means is that they are ment to be plug an blay and not to be modified just keep as is and keep the fan on high
no can do, big reason im getting it is im a noise freak. Fan stays on low lol

Would getting bigger tubes and a res and maybe a better pump make a difference? or if i want to do that should i just build my own wc

that isnt really modded. just stripped the TEC out and used the TEC

The best bet is to throw that thing on Craigslist and try to turn some prof. Or put it on a rig with less demands.

its not a POS, you got a very good cooler for the money, use it as it is.

keyword is for the money, i dunno it is decent, just not the greatest performance, but then again its insanely quiet which i like
also my little phenom here runs at really really low temps

it performs a little bit better than a TRUE, so how bad can it be?

Build a 140mm fan adapter shroud for it?
Cut one of the lines, and add a bigger radiator, and a T-line to fill it...?

Whats a T-Line, would a bigger radiator make a big difference?

Also, what about bigger tubing? i keep reading that one of the things nobody liked about it is 1/4" tubing. would bigger tubing make a difference?

Doesn't look like much to me. I think this is at stock Mhz it outperforms the stock Intel HSF by 10C..Coolit Pure Review » Page 4 - Testing: Setup

This one they kept a quad at 3.6Ghz in the mid 80C's...Under a 100C

I didn't even read this one I don't think.CoolIT PURE: Compact CPU Liquid-Cooling System Review (page 7) -

You already have it you might as well try it I guess if you want to, I'd watch it for leaks and possible early pump failure for a while.

If something is only going to perform like a HSF I cant really see risking the possible leaks or pump failures things like that are likely to have.

Ya i was worried about that as well. but most people on line say its superb build quality, and they rarely fail. Coolit actually seems like a half decent company, its based like 300k away from me if it fails ill go give em hell
. Do u think if i got bigger tubing would it maybe work better?

One more question, if i got two of them can u somehow connect the pumps together? and the rads?

HaHa..
..Go get 'em. If you have removable barbs on it you could change it out to almost any size you wanted to. But thats not going to give you as big a bang as you would think, I'd just leave that tubing on it at first.

Another rad and fan would give you a good boost as long as the pump has enough head and and flow to handle it. I'd try it, an extra rad and fan would give you a lot more performance boost then larger tubing would. Later if it seems like its going to make a good cooler I'd go for some 3/8" or larger tubing, and maybe another block to go with it, looks like it has 1/4" tube on it now but I cant really tell.

Just a little rad like this would help.BIP 120 ..Its fairly free flowing so that might help prevent it from loading down the pump to much.If you look around in the for sale section here you could probably find a little 120 of some kind pretty cheap.

Sure you could hook 2 of them in series if you have the room for it. Do those have a res built in, or are they a sealed unit? If its sealed you would need a res or t-line to refill them after you splice them togehter.

Coolit is spectacular quality, no question. They are located in Calgary, Alberta. I wouldn't waste time with bigger tubing. The real problem is the super sloooow pump. Just use it as is and be content.
