Core Clock Speed and FPS...

Hey guys. I just recently got a GTX 260 Core 216 and I wanted to see if I could come up with a predictive model for how my actual in game performance might be impacted by overclocking my video card. For example,
if I overclock my video card by 10% how does this impact my FPS in Crysis when on very high settings? The answer is it impacts the FPS by 4.3%. So I take my core clock speed from 576 to 669 which is a 16.46% overclock my FPS in Crysis will increase by 6.96%. This result is independent upon whether AA is used or not. Attached you will find graphs that display this result.

...this is so awesome. I wonder if you could use this to compile some sort of a database for curious users. Input your system parts, the game you're playing, tell it what overclock you're planning on doing and it could spit back an answer. It would save a lot of time and hassle if you knew an overclock wouldn't get you as many FPS as you wanted. +rep for your work

Thanks! I thought it was really interesting that it doesn't depend upon whether we use AA.

What program did you use to get your average FPS? I know I get all sorts of FPS depending on what I am doing. I have SLI 8800GTs and would be glad to find it's OC/FPS percentages and post it up here.
+rep indeed! Especially since I plan on getting a Core 216 myself, one of it's primary purposes to play Crysis.

Good show!
