Hi Everyone,
I am new to the forum. I have been reading through a lot and have gathered suggestions and just bought parts for a new AMD rig.
Phenom II X4 940BE
Foxconn A7DA-S mobo (AM2/AM2+)
Core contact freezer
Sapphire HD 4870 1GB
Corsair 750TX psu
4GB Patriot DDR2 mem
1TB Samsung spinpoint F1
Antec 300 case

I just started assembling the PC but am having trouble mounting the core contact freezer on the foxconn. The clip just wont reach and I am scared to push on the CPU anymore
. Has anyone used the core contect freezer with this motherboard???? Help me plzzz.. This is my first build.. Thanks in advance to anyone who can share a thought... I think "Unaufhaltsam" has this mobo and cpu cooler in his sig... I would really like to know if i can mount it or should i change the cooler.. i really dont want to though.. Thanks again

Nice build youve got there. I felt like i had to push down too hard to mount my CPU cooler as well for my first build (sig). Obviously use common sense, i have no personal experience with that particular board and cooler, but i think you may be surprised how much pressure it takes to mount the HS.

Now when you say the clip wont reach. What exactly do you mean? Pic so we can help more maybe?

Good luck.
Well the clip which fastens the cooler to the mount is kinda far away from the attachment point... i just threw caution to the wind n pressed down as hard as i could and it almost reached.. a little more and i should be there i think... thanks for the reply luckyse7ens.... it was good to know using extra force was actually needed to get this done...

Oh ok. Yeah so long as your heatsink isnt touching anything (IE its not bumping your NB cooler or ramsticks or something) you should be just fine.

Did you read up on proper application of TIM? Less is more

No problem. BTW go to USER CP on the top of OCN and fill in your system information. Makes it easier for everyone.
