Well I have been with overclock.net for a while now and Im finally building my 2nd PC. My first I sold because I needed the money at the time. This build is going to be my best one yet. First ill give you a list of the components and why I chose each component. Please feel free to give any advice or additions or subtractions to my build.

thats a lot of money for a case , but i would definitely buy a faster hard drive (velociraptor). when your building a system like this dont go cheap on a hard drive ? you also need a good cpu cooler vendetta 2.

Everything you got is the exact same of what I would get. I would get 2 of those HDD's though and run em in RAID 0.

I am pretty much gonna end up having the same rig as you minus the case and psu.

1 veociraptor or if you got money get 2 and let it flyyyyyyyyyyyy. the hd is going to be the slowest thing in your computer.

I would go witht he 4x 320, I'm not sure if the Velociraptor would still be faster but it wouldn't be by much and it would be 1/4 the storage space.

if you have the money id go with the x58 evga and some velociraptors for a raid 0 set up. The ram is good but Corsair dominator 1600 is always nice too

If you're going on air id go with the Thermalright extreme 120 1366 version, I've only heard great things about it.

Nice mobo, don't get the X58 from Evga, this mobo is way better, only Evga classified blows everything away

I should get a Coolermaster Haf 932 case myself, for the silence and WC options.

For power supply: PSU's from Corsair and Coolermaster are way better!

4x320gb will be faster than 1 velociraptor. However, 4 drives in RAID0 has a lot higher risk of failing.

I saw 3x320gb or if you can afford it 2 velociraptors.

Alright, heres the choices, 2x320GB WD + 1 Velociraptor 150GB. Or 2x Velociraptor 150GB.

like i said before dont go cheap on your hard drive. buy one velociraptor try it out if thats not fast enough then get a second. that was my plan, but i was happy with the speed i got with one velociraptor. DONT GO CHEAP MY FRIEND.

Only if you're doing tons of reads and writes (makes for slightly more efficient scratchdisk/pagefileing but you have 6gb of ram so I doubt you'll need that at all)

That drives kinda small though. Grab a TB caviar black for 3 times the storage at twice the cash, much better deal. You'll thank yourself later when you have the thing half full and would have had to buy another drive otherwise.

I say you water cool the thing, it'll just plain look (and obviously work) better. You get a cheap system together for the price you would spend on a high end motherboard torturing tower cooler anyway.

Well, for right now ive decided to stick with 2x WD3200KSRTL. Once I save up more money ill get 2x 300GB Velociraptors. Now my problem is DDR3 RAM. Are the corsair dominator 3x2Gb 1600mhz worth the extra 70$ over the OCZ Platinum which also gets a 20 MIR also?

WD AAKS 320GB is still an value play so I would do 2x AAKS 320GB.
