When I ran my memory at stock speeds (DDR3-1333) with timings of 9-9-9-24 in Everest Memory benchmark my latency was normally around 60ns. Once I ran my memory speed at it's rated timings and speed the latency dropped to 50ns. In both situations (especially when running it at it's rated speed) the write , copy and read were much higher than the reviews of the i7 indicated. But the reviews have a Everest Memory latency speed normally around 39 while currently I've seen 49-50ns latency on my system. Any thoughts on this ?.

Yes I am infact. I just read this:

http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...77#post3637777

Quote:
In previous EVEREST versions the special IMC optimizations of Core i7 processors managed to get around our memory latency measurement routine and optimized it beyond the expected level. That's why EVEREST v5.00 measures considerably higher memory latency scores on Core i7, and actually those high scores are the real ones. We expect the real memory latency to be at least 50% higher than the ones your could measure using EVEREST v4.60.
I'm going to try the previous versions and see what memory latency scores they report. It seems then that the early reviews were flawed because they used Everest v 4.60.1540 BETA.

Edit: Using 4.60.1641 BETA I achieved a latency of 32.9ns.

lol, my last rig had results a bit better than that (e8500 @ 4.0ghz/ram in a 1:1 ratio).

Wow, those are really good. It's probably confused because you're using a lower multiplier. Is the ddr3-2227 accurate?

The numbers given by 4.xx and 5.xx versions are not directly comparable.

I didn't know that, thanks.

Here's an updated pic on 5.00:
