Core i7 voltage

I curently have my i7 at 4ghz @ 1.36v. Ive been reading online and this voltage seems kinda high. Is there any other way i can stay at the same speed but lower my voltage? I only have my voltage changed in my bios everything else is at auto.

I ran prime95 for about 4hrs without a problem. My temps stayed at about 58

58C after 4 hours of prime at 4GHZ?? What cooler do you have? a Gold one? Water?

I would say 1.3v should be good for 4GHZ? Possibly less? So far I have 3.5GHZ at 1.152, only have ran prime for about 3 hours though.
Im on an asus p6t deluxe and im doing water cooling
That's about the voltage I needed to hit 4GHz with a C0 rev chip.

I think my chip is a DO it says SLBEJ on the box

Its a little high, but all chips are different. Try decreasing Vcore and see what happens. temps are great though.
I managed to get it down to 1.336. I tried going lower but i got a bsod. Is there any other way i can have a lower vcore but change other voltage settings in the bios
Try using an odd multi with an odd bus speed.
I'm @4GHz w/ 1.296 vcore now.

I think there is a guide here in one of the stickies.

Play around with other voltage to lower the vcore.

ioh, ich, vdimm, cpu pll, qpi/uncore, cpu skew etc2

it helped me a lot, just have a look at it

Do you have HT turned on? I can gain stability(24hours of prime+200 Linpack) at 4ghz with only 1.18v, but when I turn HT on then I have to bump my voltage to 1.23v.

Also you might want to set your OPIvoltage manually. It is suppose to be around .35v-.4v less than your Vdimm. For instance, if your memory is runing at 1.65v then you need to set your OPI to 1.25v-1.30v. Especially if you want HT on.
At default settings in the bios the voltage is 1.232 which is a bit high compared to others.
Why is it that i have the bios voltage set to 1.3125 and then on cpuz it says 1.344 on idle but as soon as i run prime95 the voltage goes up to 1.352. I knew about vdrop but here nothing is dropping.

You've probably enabled VDroop Control.
