Hi guys!

I own [email protected] GHz 1.35V with Dark Rock 3 after Delidding IHS.
CPU temp at game ~60c and in prime95 ~75c.
Now want to go and try some AIO to reduce temp even more. My CPU is allready after Delidding IHS and change thermal paste to CLU.
Temps go down for ~25c
I change thermal paste and put IHS back again with Dark Rock 3 on it to hold everything together tight

It works fine and my temp are nice.

The main question is... Can i remove IHS and put Corsair H115i straight on core?

You'll need to remove the LGA socket retention mechanism. So the CPU is held in place with just the socket and mounting pressure from the cooler.

Tried this on my H80i + delidded 3570K once. Backed out incase i cracked the die. Kinda wish i stuck at it to see temp drop.

So when i remove LGA socket retention mechanism is very easy to crack the die?
You recomend to try or it is pointless and keep the IHS on?

If you try and mount the cooler to the die right now the cold plate will not come into contact with the processor die.

I'd give a shot tbh. Take the retention arm off and see if you can get a good mount with the cooler on the naked die. Just not too tight or die might crack.

Neither. A Swiftech H240-X2 on both. If you are going to liquid cool, get something that performs like liquid cooling.

H115i is beast, was looking at reviews on amazon and newegg of specifically the 115i... lol very nice... I'm debating between that one and the 38mm thick tubes of the h105 for my next build in 2017, but you probably will have a h120 or something out by then and i will get that anyway.

360MM rad dooo it corsair rep!!! hahaha
