Hey all, I'm looking to upgrade my PSU, but wanted to see if what I have now is enough power for future upgrades. I'm using the Corsair HX620 at the moment.

Mobo: Gigabyte x38-DQ6
CPU: Q6600 - upgrading to Q9550
VGA: ATI 3870 - upgrading to 4870 (possibly 2 cards)
RAM: G. Skill 8500 4GB - adding another 4GB and possibly upgrading from 8500 to 8800.

Thoughts?

Yes. You could CFXthe 4870s.

Are you tinkering much with large photo files such as .pngs or editing video? 8GB is overkill for just about anything.

Really? Cool! And thanks!

Oh and no I'm not messing with any photo stuff. I was doing some video editing, but I haven't done so in a while.

I notice an improvement overall in Vista 64 with 8GB vs 4GB.

Gaming seems a little smoother (loading and such), tabbing around works fine, and I can run a crapton of stuff at once without worrying about my RAM.

/shrug

Just what I noticed is all. Doesn't mean they're wrong for how they use a PC, but they better not tell me I'm wrong either.
