If you've got an X25-V 40GB from Intel could be please run:
  • HDTune Pro (Trial) 4.60 - Random Access Benchmark
  • ATTO Disk Benchmark
Post the results here please.

If you could also state the age that would be really useful.

My drive is getting poor results, I'd like to see if it's just me.

mine gets around 200MB/s read when a non-OS drive. I have not tested it with an OS on it, however it should be similar.

what kinds of speeds are you getting & are you running TRIM and garbage collection? Has it been an OS drive for quite a long time?

No idle time garabage collection on Intel SSDs.

However, Intel provides you with the SSD Toolbox which includes the SDD Optimizer.

It's been an OS drive for about a year now.

Here are CDM results from a review:

My results:

Seq
Read: 183MB/s
Write: 36Mb/s

512K
Read: 122MB/s
Write: 39Mb/s

4K
Read: 20MB/s
Write: 43MB/s

Those values don't seem too far from the ones on the review. Question, do you have the Intel SSD Toolbox installed? If so, when was the last time you ran the SSD optimizer? Given the limited amount of NAND, performance of the X25-V deteriorates more quickly compared to, say, an X25-M 80GB. Unfortunately, it appears Intel likes to put off garbage collection until the last possible minute (presumable for greater longevity).
