I am building my computer wed, and would like to get the 955 oc'ed to 3.8

What are the safe voltages?
What is the proper voltages at this OC?
What are safe temps on this chip?
If I OC does it disable that auto feature when the CPU downclocks when not in use?
Can I hot-key my overclocks like I do with my HD 4870?

Is it as easy as just bumping up the multiplier up? or do I have to play with ram timings/downclock them etc to sync them up with the chip? like in my old X2 4200.

Thanks In Advance.

Appreciate any advice I can get on how to oc properly to 3.8

Safe voltages would be anything below 1.5V...this is safe.

3.8 should take around 1.5v give or take a few volts.

Sometimes it does disable cool and quiet and sometimes it works...I dont think there is any explanation as to when it works and when it does not.

Yes you can hot key them with a program like AOD, but software overclocking tends to be a bit more unstable than bios overclocking for me.

Ram timings will be important. So first start with the ram and get that upto the rated timings and latencies. Then look at overclocking the NB using a combination of the multi and fsb steps for the last part, and then finally the cpu, with multi and then fsb steps for the last part.

For a 3.8 u may not need to use the fsb steps at all. Just use the multis.

What are the safe voltages? AMD Recommends not surpassing 1.55v
What is the proper voltages at this OC? That depends on the CPU...search google and here so you can find out what everyone is getting to give you an estimation of the voltage you may or may not need

What are safe temps on this chip? The max temp AMD suggests you do not pass is 63C
If I OC does it disable that auto feature when the CPU downclocks when not in use? Yes and to solve this "problem" you can find and download PhenomMSRTweaker
Can I hot-key my overclocks like I do with my HD 4870? Just use PhenomMSRTweaker

Thanks In Advance.

Appreciate any advice I can get on how to oc properly to 3.8 Crank the voltage up based on the voltage you have estimated you will need and see if you are stable at 3.8Ghz...if not raise voltages till your stable...if so lower voltages whilst checking stability
Don't forget to OC that Northbridge and to watch all of your temps....motherboard and northbridge especially

Next time you should try looking up your questions...i know i had these and similar questions which i answered by simply looking around
