Hey all,

I've got a MSI K8N-32 SLI Diamond Plus (or something like that) for the sicket 939 setup. In addition, I have a watercooled FX-60, and 2 Nvidia (eVGA) 512 MB 7900 GTX (both running 16X) graphics cards. In addition I have 4 Gigs of RAM.

Never had a computer good enough to bother overclocking, and was wondering how ecxactly to do it?

I have changed the multiplier to 15X and kept 200.9 FSB, with only a slight voltage raise. This gives me a stable 3.03 GHz.

What do I do to push this faster?

increase the FSB slightly ( by 4-5 mhz) till it wont boot propercly then increase the voltage slightly. if voltage increase does not work, try decreasing the ram speed (ddr 400 to ddr 333) or increasing the ram voltage.

tell me where you get to. Also, go in USER CP up top to fill in your system information.

EDIT: Also, post all info in the bios:
CPU: voltage, CPU speed in MHZ, multiplier
RAM: voltage, timings
Motherboard: FSB, hyper transport(between 1 and 5) and bios version.

Please fill in your "System Specs" via the USER CP link at the top of the page.
It helps us help you

Fill out your rig specs in your USER CP

What kind of ram are you running? You will most likely end up dropping the multi back to 12 or 13, and then turn up the FSB (HTT in some bios). This is dependent on the ram though.
I would lower the multi back down and raise the FSB. It will increase the ram speed aswell and have better perfromance than stock FSB with higher multi.

User CP changed (to the best of my ability). Planning on going for better ram (but the Unioversity supplied this stuff). Any reccommendations?

How do I change everything? lol, dumb question I know. How do I find a stable FSB speed?

In your bios, look for CPU options and ram or dram options.

By the way, I dont think you can get better ram than that, if they are all 1GB sticks (4X1gb). Unless maybe you get Mushkin Black line.

Well I was thinking of the Corsair 2048MB TwinX PC3200 CAS 2 Dual Channel Kit (2 x 1024MB), but 4 Gigs, isn't that faster then the blackline and redline by Muskin?

Or should I do the: Mushkin XP2-8000 Xtreme Performance Redline DDR2 SDRAM, 2GB Dual Pack (2 x 1GB), but 4 Gigs? These were the two I was thinking of moving to

Just so you know, PC 3200 is not the same as DDR2, it won't work together. Unless I am mistaken the K8N is a s939 Mobo so DDR2 won't work with it. What do you need 4 Gigs of RAM for? that is alot, didnt' think anything would ever use that currently.
