This is the official thread to help anticipate the launch of the Wii, especially for you super-eager gamers out there (I'm one of them). Download the desktop countdown launch timer now. And if you feel the need to tell the community how eager you are, talk away.

Atleast 1 million units will be hitting north america at launch and 4 million worldwide by the end of the year, the Wii is almost here!

As for me im getting the Wii with Legend of Zelda: Twlight Princess, a retro controller and a new TV... I cant (litteraly cant) wait!

Know where I can find a list of Wii games?

There were a few badass games for the cube that made it worth my while to buy it. If they come out with just one game where I can swing a sword around with the Wiimote i'll buy it before I get my new laptop.

Im so getting one...think of the baseball games and how theyll play...

Apparently Madden 07 is going to have a whole new control scheme on the Wii using the Wiimote, although there will be the alternative gamepad play as well, as you can simply hook up an existing Gamecube controller.

Nov. 19'th is the release date and the game redsteel will have a sword fighting scene, but its an asian themed FPS that will be sweet. That will be a launch game along with Zelda: Twilight which comes out for the gamecube too but not until a few weeks later.

I;m eager to see what they will do with sports games, particularly baseball, and not to mention battle systems in RPG's. Hopefully there will be something like Aquall's Renzokuken in FFVIII, how you had to press the R1 trigger, but instead, a motion in which to hit with a devatsating attack or something. THe possibilities of adding a motion sensing device are many, its just up to the game developers to execute on it. Im also digging being able to download N64, SNES, and NES games to the Wii. I think Nintendo will hit pretty well with fan-fares. Im not too interested in the PSP, HD DVD drives are going to hit PCs soon, and if I wanted the super awesome graphics, Id simply up my video card.

Meh, not getting a Wii at launch but I really respect Nintendo for not falling into the hype for HD and having the most powerful console, but instead being content with have a very affordable offering that should be pretty fun and interesting, I've hated Nintendo for a long time but this time I'm able to admit they were brave in taking the road less traveled. As I've said before, products should stand on their own merits, I may buy a Wii just so that Nintendo makes more money to show my appreciation to a company that isn't worried simply about playing the numbers game with its consumers lol.

I'm not going to rush out and buy it at launch, but only because it's a perfect XMas gift for my wife to give me. I'm playing Zelda on December 25th, baby.

Hmm I consider it an Adventure game though.. but ya it's a must to anyone who's old enough to have played Ocarina of time or the older ones on SNES/NES

I noticed a lot of younger kids aren't into Zelda as much... or is it just in my region?

That will be true if it is at least as good if not better than the original or A Link To The Past.

I will have a Wii on launch day, only cuz I have it reserved and a bunch of credit at my local game store. The SMB for the Wii is what sold me on it. Well, that, being able to play old school video games and the retro controller.
For those who do not know, the wavebird for the cube will work on the Wii.

You have to like Zelda, for me anyway its up there somewhere with the old school games...Like asteroids and such. Age makes no difference. Im 16 and I can still appreciate older games
