well this upgrade was supposed to happen last year but i ran into some budget problems and forgot what parts i was going to get so here i am my budget is $270 i dont mind buying used but would be nice new i just need a CPU and a MoBo if you do AMD please go with the Phenom series and MoBo needs to be compatible with DDR3 1333 and i will be gaming, overclocking, and doing CPU heavy tasks every now and then

the mobo u suggested only allows pcie x16 for 1 card and other card @ 4x
so if the op wants to cf in future it would not be good at all....

As he didn't said nothing about Crossfire/SLI now or in he near future i proposed a mobo that wasn't made for it. The GA-890GPA-UD3H is great, but unless he's willing to put 2 ATI's graphics cards in that rig he wouldn't be getting much profit buying this mobo, so AMD 870 would suit his needs. I prefered to choose a board first and then throw the rest of the money to a CPU. If he prefers a Phenom ii X4 he will be very well suited still

yeah intel gets to expensive for me im just going to stick with AMD and a nice mobo
