How can the Intel Stock Pentium D stock HSF win low noise? Just use a really good HS and just use a better fan. That ranking is more based on fan performance than the actual heatsink. They need to have all the HSF running the core at the same temperature and THEN compare.

I know, it's kinda weird, but it is the biggest benchmark of coolers I've ever seen

It's funny. Because my original post didnt say "Terrible Reviews..." Looks like admin is editting posts they deem inappropriate. It's a brave new world on OCN.

yeah, that xbit one is much better. but remember, when you put a better fan on the BT, it's much better.

i don't trust their testing methods... just from the results:
Intel Stock Pentium D high 33.8 20.7 47.5

socket, cooler, fan speed, 150w, 85w, sound (dBA)

no way a stock intel cooler can keep 150w at 34*c.

It makes a little more sense.

I wish someone would compare it to the Tower 112. Its been out for a long time, but no one seems to review it. I have a similar CPU at the same speed overclocked, but Im getting better load temps and much better idle temps than any of the coolers reviewed in there. And this is with a fairly warm room temp and the side panel on.

I think they mean 34C above ambient. So it the room temp is 25C, that means the CPU would be 59C.

I'd take a BT+FM121 over a tuniq (mine is being set up to pull air directly onto the BT from outside the case through a 120mm fan filter,) I can't wait for new temps! ..
