You want to blow as much air as you can over the fins of the heatsink. Suction is far less effective, unless you have a push/pull setup with two fans. So, it is installed correct from factory.
CPU fan direction
I just built my new system with phenom ii x3 720 BE and sussessfully unlocked the 4th core. However I'm worrying about the stock cpu fan direction though. The fan is preinstalled onto the heatsink out of box. I'm feeling that the cpu is blowing towards the heatsink which means it's blowing towards the cpu also. Shouldn't it suck hot air out from the cpu? Could my fan be installed in the wrong direction in factory?
