Simple Question, better for gaming?
Q6600, E8500, or Q8200?

Q8200 is not a good gaming processor, I'd say the E6600 was better. Clock speed > cores when it comes to games. E8500 is best on that list.
its not an E6600 its a Q6600 btw
E8500!!!

You can clock it up to 4GHz+ if your board is good.

Does your motherboard support 45nm CPUs?

Yup, I think so. And if I can get this E5200 stable @ 4GHz I know I could do it with an E8500

I'd still go with the Q6600. Yes it wont hit the frequencies that an e8500 will but even in single threaded apps the probable 3.6Ghz would be more than enough.

see thats the problem I am having now, the E5200 even at 4GHz is barely enough to play GTA4. I was told that GTA4 LOVES a quad, so thats why I am going quad. Other than GTA4 I do not have any problems playing any game whatsoever at native res on my monitor.

I also like the fact that the Q6600 has an 8MB Cache size and a 1066FSB

It sounds like you need to plan a trip to Marietta soon. And while you're there, stop by the Microcenter and grab a Q9550 for $170.
I think I will pass on the trip to microcenter thanks. I am trying to buy everything used and save myself some money and help out the OCN community.
I'd go Q9400.
Most games don't use more than 2 cores mate, some only use 1, keep that in mind when considering your chip for gaming! Note, first person shooter games are a significant expection, they can use ALL the cores on your processor, like Crysis, Battlefield 2, etc..

well with a few exceptions, FPS is almost all I play. Right now my list of games is Counter Strike Source, Counter Strike 1.6, Counter Strike Condition Zero, Half Life Source, Half Life Deathmatch Source, Half Life 2 Deathmatch, Half Life 2 EP1, Day Of Defeat Source, Crysis, Crysis Warhead, GTA San Andreas, GTA4, Garry's Mod, and Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2. Thats about all I have played in quite a while.
