the athlon...just take a look at the cache and u dont go any further...well to tell u the truth even the intel p4 3.0GHz struggles with the 2.5Ghz athlon what more the celeron...but does a 3.0 celeron exist?
Usually the GHz performance ratio between AMD and Intel is 3:2.
For example, a 3 GHz Intel processor will roughly equal that of a 2 GHz AMD processor, although for the specifics it really depends on the model.
I don't know about 612 kb L2 cache (did you meant to type 512?)...
Anyways.... the Athlon will win the match. However, it would also depend on what kind of Athlon it would be... like if it's one of the older versions of Athlons (32-bit), then the benchies may come out to be about the same.
However, from the surface point of view, it seems that the Athlon is more likely to win the match w/ the Celeron.
