im in need of a cpu and gpu monitor for temps and clock speeds and such

Overlaying your screen or on your actual desktop?

If its just your desktop you can get Rainmeter and get the MSI & CPU configs

like a sidebar kinda deal so when ever im on my desktop i can see the stuff

Rainmeter > Gadgets

There is dozens of applications, gadgets out there so really wouldn't know which one your looking for specifically.
EVGA forums may have there own rainmeter config or sidebar gadget with EVGA precision.

Trust me its awesome, you have plenty of freedom to customize it unlike windows gadgets.
Just make sure you read up before you dive in, some parts may confuse you.

i'd totally go for HWMONITOR. It's not super duper acurate but it's light weight and has a small footprint on memory, plus it gives you most of your components data in the one gui.

If you used the one I liked with MSI, you need to have MSI Afterburner installed and running.
