Does lowering the cpu multi and raising the htt decrease some of the stress on the processor and put more on the motherboard (i.e. allow you to OC your cpu with less temps and lower voltages by using a 10X270 instead of 12X225)? I have my clawhammer running at 2750mhz at 1.56-1.63V full load and i don't want to raise the Voltage any higher for everyday use. I have generic ram so 225 and i have to run a divider at anything past 225 so i'm not going to get any ram speed benefits from a lower multi.

No, not really. The CPU is still working at the same speed so it shouldn't really affect it. Some have found that certain multipliers work better than others though, so maybe have a play around and see what works the best.

Ok, that's what i was thinking...it seems like anything below my 12X multi makes it OC more efficiently.

Using a higher multi would mean less stress on the mobo because the HTT wouldnt have to be as high.
You would gain more performance with a higher HTT tho.
Stress is really an issue tho unless its unstable.

You just might reach higher core speeds using a higher multi.

Would i really see increased performance running..say a 300mhz htt (assuming my mb can handle it)? I won't be running anywhere near 1:1, since my ram stabily tops out around 225mhz.

The higher the "stable" HTT the more effecient the system due to less cycles or lower multiplyer.
The evolution of the PC is simply based on the bus speeds, ie HTT in this case and obviously with the RAM. If higher bus speeds were irrelevant we would still be running CPUs on a 33MHz bus
