Try reseating the HSF before purchasing a new cooler. Also, make sure you are using something like AS5.

Well your CPU is prone to getting warm due to its fabrication type. However. You shouldnt get that hot. Perhaps try removing your heatsink and cleaning off the old thermal compound and reapplying a better one such as AS5 ( Arctic silver 5 ) and then replace the heatsink.

Can't give you a normal temp but 63C is HOT! Shut it down! Reseat! Apply some AS5! Something!

My 2500+ runs lower than 50c overclocked so I would strongly suggest first trying to reaply some thermal compound. Arctic Silver 5 is good stuff. Also, I would suggest checking your bios for temps or trying another temp monitoring program. Perhaps yours is faulty. I think My PC auto shuts down at around 60c. If the temps are indeed that high and the thermal compound doesn't work, you can maybe try lapping your current HS, maybe it's scratched or something. If it's not scratched and thermal compound doesn't work then I would suggest buying a new HSF. If you don't plan to overclock, I think most brands should be efficient enough to bring your temps down.

Those CPUs get quite toasty. You could happen to have a 1.65v version of that chip. Try knocking it down to 1.6v.

The aero 7 would be more along the lines of today's arctic freezer (non pro), quiet and effective. The volcano was a beast of a HSF...so sub 50 temps is not a surprise in the least

The socket A's are easier to install a temp probe on as well, you might want to pick up an inexpensive thermal monitor for one of your drive bays to make sure you have a better idea of the temps.

I use to have the same MB as you and it OC great

Mine had a 2600m with a Volcano 12, a bit loud at full speed but a very good cooler for that MB because you have to have clips to retain it on that MB!
A few places for about $30

$33

If you want to go a bit les expensive ...

Note peeps, his MB does not have mount holes, must have a clip on HSF.

A bit loud? When my Volcano 12's cranked up it sounds like a jet engine is firing up.
