CPU total vs GPU total

I have 1 CPU thread going and 1 GPU thread.

The CPU thread only has to do 5000 (steps?) where my GPU has to do 25000, so my question is, do they each equally count as one WU when they are completed?

On your CPU thread are you running the -SMP flag. If not, then that is a low level, low point WU. It will count, but not for much.

The CPU client and the GPU client are 2 different w/u's. You will get credit for completing 2 w/u's once they complete the current w/u's. One w/u per client.

Says that flag does not exist, I'm guessing I need a different client to run SMP?

You need to download the SMP client, and add the -smp flag to the shortcut of the .exe

You also need a 64-bit ( EM64T ) CPU to run SMP, on Linux atleast

Which it looks like you have

You don't need a 64bit client to run smp. I am running it on Windows XP 32.

He said CPU, not OS.

Either way, I'm not sure if he's right or not, but almost ALL 64-bit CPUs are... <_< well, let me rephrase.

Most CPUs are 64-bit these days. If it's not, it's old and not worth folding with SMP on.
thanks. another question:

does PPD = iter / sec? and how to I calculate PPD on the CPU/SMP client?

Use a program called fahmon. You can find all the info + guides in the essentials thread.

I had trouble with flagging the smp client as such at first. There's a useful thread some pages back. Create a shortcut, Open its properties, Add quotation marks to the shortcut, and add a space then -smp.

eg: "C:\\Users\\Example\\SMPFAH\\[email protected]" -smp

Always launch from the shortcut.
